WHAT IS THE SHEEP AND WOOL FESTIVAL?
Sheep and Wool, or 'Rhinebeck Sheep and Wool' or officially NEW YORK STATE SHEEP AND WOOL FESTIVAL is one of the country's premier fiber events hosted every year on the third weekend in October at the Dutchess County fairgrounds. It's a must-see for many with (usually) over 30,000 people attending.

The next Sheep and Wool will be held Thursday-Sunday October 15-18, 2026, with workshops held Thursday/Friday October 15-16 (Sign up in advance, workshops sell out!) and main festival on the 17-18th. For latest updates see the Sheep and wool website.
