Elka Park

July in the Northern hemisphere means long days of hot weather and cool clothing. One of my favourite Summer fibres is Bamboo. With its wonderful drape, subtle sheen and cool comfort, Be Sweet’s Bamboo makes the perfect yarn for a stylish alternative to the T-shirt.

ELKA PARK

EP1

Elka Park in Be Sweet Bamboo from Heather Dixon of Army of Knitters! http://www.fabulousyarn.com/besweet_bamboo.shtml

I designed Elka Park when I wanted a cool top to wear with my shorts or flowing skirt. It looks much more special than a T-shirt, and its details keep this from being a mindless knit.

EP2

Starting at the bottom edge, Elka Park features a purl band below and above the rib section, then continues in the round with mirrored cables at each side “seam”. (There are no seams!)

EP3 EP4

The upper part of Elka Park divides at the armholes and is worked back and forth in rows of elongated stitches to form an attractive wave pattern.

Be Sweet Bamboo comes in a wide range of colours, both solid and beautifully variegated shades, plenty of delicious flavours to choose from, and all are calorie-free!

Elka Park details:

Fun and quick to knit, featuring a snug, low waistband, relaxed body with mirror-cabled sides, textured, lacy yoke and dropped shoulders.
